Congrats to Fy & Sue!

A friend of mine is having a baby as well. The due date was scheduled for April 6 (c-section). I was actually out with the father last night having a drink. We said our goodbyes and good lucks about 11:30pm. I said, "Maybe we'll see you next week at the hospital!" Low and behold, I get an email this morning, and ...... it's a healty baby boy! I guess contractions started early in the morning and by 6:30am a baby boy was delivered. Congratulations to Fy and Sue on their first child. I guess we won't be meeting up in the hostital at the same time afterall.

Watch for pictures posted of Fy & Sue's baby on my buddies blog site listed on the left side of this page at "
THE MOTORHOME".

All the best to Fy, Sue and baby Ethan!

A Baby Shower at work

I would like to thank everyone at work for the wonderful gifts and advice that you all gave to Michelle and I. I believe that was a first for our department at work. This was the first baby shower I had ever been to in the 9 years of working for the bank.

We got so many great gifts for the baby. I am sure he/she would say thanks of he/she could. I don't think I could give enough thanks as we really didn't expect that much, including 2 hours away from work (thanks manager Juan).

I have posted these pictures elsewhere, since there are so many.
Click here for the pictures. A big thanks to Michael Lau for taking 65+ pictures and to Don who also took his share.

I also thank all of you for the great and not so great baby name. Judi, I still don't think 'Mice' would work, and pronouncing it me-che with a European accent will not work either. :)

Thanks again everyone, this was a great event and both Michelle and I loved it. We'll make sure we get lots of pictures so Danny will have a lot to choose from!

Guilty!

OK, ok. I'm guilty, of not updating the site every day or every other day. We are now into week 39 of the pregnancy with only 1 week to go. Very exciting and nerve racking too. I get nervous everytime I think about it. Michelle said that shes feels "different" today. Not sure what that means exactly, but it must be time soon. The baby has also dropped a little more.

Today people at my work have organized a 'baby shower' for Michelle and I. That will happen at 3pm. I will post the pictures in tomorrow's post.

Still nothing yet

I have recieved a few calls from people wondering if the child was here. The reason? Because I haven't updated this site in a few days. I guess because of the situation I should be updating this daily, but sometimes its tough since we don't do a lot right now. We spend a lot of time with family right now and do a few things around the home. Yesterday, the bathroom downstairs was painted and a we were working on some of the finishing touches on the basement. Other than that nothing new, no baby yet.

I'll try and post something as close to the time as possible. After that, I can't say when the next post will be. 2 weeks to go....if scheduled correctly.

Happy Birthday!

Today is Michelle's 2? birthday.
H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y ! ! !

Well, no signs of labour today. A very good thing. That means the baby won't share the same birthday as his/her mother. I think we are going to try and avoid April Fools Day as well, if we can. Sorry cousin John, I know your birthday is that day, but look how you turned out, we don't want that now, do we? (haha! just kidding)

The baby has been quite active lately. You can now visually see the baby moving around. Kind of looks like one of those old horror movies when you see the hand pushing at the belly to get out. It is actually quite a site to see.

The day after last day

A lot of people who have seen Michelle in the past few weeks have noticed that the baby has dropped considerably. Her belly has got much harder with the baby pushing, due to lack of room to move around. Good news is, the baby is in head down position, unlike myself, who thought it would be smart to land feet first, 30 years ago. In today's world, they do not, as often, deliver naturally if the baby is in the breach position. This was good news, as we are still heading toward a natural birth. Weeks ago the doctor had mention, under his breath, that Michelle may need a C-Section due to the size of the baby. That has changed since then, and "All systems are go!"

GO LEAFS GO!

Welcome to Week 38

Click the link above to find out what to expect in Week #38.

Also a very helpful link to all those expecting dads out there!
I stumbled upon this very helpful link today. A good read.

New purchase

Last night in the way home, I stopped at Best Buy and decided to purchase a video camera. I bought a Sony Handycam DCRHC26. It's a pretty basic camera and has all the features I really need in a camera. I wanted to have one for the baby. You never know when I can capture an, "America's Funniest Home Video" and win lots of money. Yep, just me dreaming again.

This camera is so small, but loaded with features. Paris Hilton would be jealous of the nightshot feature in this camera. It takes great shots even in pitch black. It has many filters as well, and "touch screen". I enjoy that feature. Pretty cool what they have now days. I am going to try this one out for a few weeks. Best thing about it, is, if I don't like it, I can just bring it back and get my money back. I don't think I'll be doing that though, I like it. Even a baby could use it!

Case of the "Mundays"

Sunday was a long day. We visited Michelle's mom, her dad and my parents yesterday. It was good to get out of the house to visit with loved ones. It even turned to a better day because the Leafs won a game, 1-0. Yeah! They're not done yet....ok maybe they are, but I'm die hard....and actually, every year it gets harder to watch!

So now, Monday morning. I get up...Michelle beside me. That's strange to begin with. She usually leaves the house at least 30 minutes before I even get out of bed. As I'm writing this, I can hear faint breathing, almost a snore coming from the bedroom next to the computer room. Ahhhhh, you know what.....she's done work, she can sleep in all she wants. I think a little bit of jealousy has set in. I hate mornings myself. I am a night hawk. I could sleep all morning. Not so much for me. I have to go to work and she gets to sleep in. Just because she is carrying for 9 months doesn't mean she should get to sleep in, afterall, if it weren't for me to begin with, today would be the start of her 5 day work week. Well, one thing to look forward to at least...the next 2 weekends. These will be the last 2 I get to sleep in, before the baby is born. Sure I get 2 weeks off work, but from what I understand, there's very little sleep happening for a very long time.

Well, for me, time to get ready for work. Do I have a case of the Munday's (Office Space reference)? Yep. Absolutely. I keep telling myself, "I love Mondays". It doesn't work.

In addition I am posting some more pics from the shower. Pictures keep showing up in my Inbox so I have to show some of them off. Thanks to all who have sent pictures from that day!

More Baby Shower Pics

Here are some more pictures from the baby shower, on Sunday. March 12, 2006, held at my parents place.

Not much to report today. Went to the movies tonight. Figured we better do it now because we won't be doing it as much after the baby is born. If so, baby sitter needed. Haha. We saw the movie, "
The Hills Have Eyes". It was a pretty good movie. A lot of freaks in that movie. I think I recognize a few of them from Ajax! Go see it, some good effects in it.

Off for 1 year

Michelle has come down with that nasty cold everyone seems to have right now. The downside to it....no drugs for her. Just a lot of hot tea and rest.

Well looks like the excitment has hit. Last day of work for Michelle tomorrow. Time to pack up and get ready to head out. I wonder what that's like? To stay home for a year. I don't think I'd want to do it. I wouldn't want to have to drag my butt back to work after a year. It's hard enough to go in on Monday's after 2 days off, let alone trying to go back after a year. That's like Mondays x 52. Talk about one large case of the, "Mundays".

Off to bed. See most of you tomorrow at work.

37 Weeks and a day later

Finally, the first picture of Michelle.
(Thanks Aunt Terry)

I would like to thank all those people that attended Michelle's baby shower on Sunday, March 12. From what I understand, it was a great turn out. Judging from the amount of gifts Michelle came home with, there must have been a lot of people. Thanks to everyone who has bought and even made baby gifts for us. Everything will be put to good use, I am sure.

Michelle attended a Dr.'s appointment today, and all is well. Only 2 days left of work for Michelle, then 2 weeks and 1 year off. I wish I could say the same for me, but it's back to work after 2 weeks holidays, after the baby is delivered. Guess someone has to bring home the money.

Welcome to week 37!

What does Week 37 bring, click here to find out!

Well, as most of you already know, my wife and I are expecting our first child. The due date is scheduled for April 7, 2006. We are very excited at this point, but yet nervous as hell.

We did a tour of the Ajax Hospital last night, to see where we would be spending a few days during the delivery time. We are somewhat prepared.

We have the nursury almost completed. Just some shelves left to hang up. The crib is now in the room, as well as the dresser and change table. The baby has a full dresser, which has already accumulated more clothes than I have in my whole wardrobe. Here are a few pictures of the work from start to now.
